My brother was on a first date with a teacher and asked her if she had any fun summer plans since she’d have time off. She responded I was hoping we’ll be married by then. There was a very awkard pause, she than right away explained she meant she was hoping to be married by than, not to him specifically, and anyways was just saying it as a joke because she was very nervous and not herself. That completely broke the ice. They had a great rest of the date and did, in fact, end up married by the end of that summer!
