My shul was having a huge shabbaton to grow our very small out of town community and show interested families what we are all about. A girl whose family was coming in from New York reached out to a shadchan because she’d be here anyways, and we were set up for a date Sunday morning. Motzei shabbos the shul had a melave malka and a hypnosis show. I got called up with my brother, and we were hypnotized, and the whole deal did all the funny things. It completely didn’t occur to me that the girl I was going out with the next morning could be in the audience. It was the first thing she brought up on the date. I regretted going uonthr second I realized, but she just thought it was funny. We dated for a while, didn’t end up working out but ill be sure to think twice before volunteering for any shows 🤪
