Yoni Asher, whose wife Doron, and their two young daughters Raz, 5, and Aviv, 2, were held as hostages by Hamas terrorists in Gaza for 49 days and released on 25 November 2023, was back in Brussels last week.
As he did when he came on 8 November 2023 in the European Parliament, he again recited the Shema Israel prayer at the conclusion of his moving address.
During the reception hosted by HE Ambassador Haim Regev Israel in Europe and HE Ambassador Idit Rosenzweig Abu Israël en Belgique—Israël in België, he also put on tefillin and recited Shema Israel, helped by Rabbi Levi Matusof, Chabad Shliach at the European Institutions.
