A major theme of the recent holiday of Chanukah is to focus on miracles that are found in our day-to-day life. In fact, one of the reasons we light the menorah for eight days and not seven is to appreciate the miracle of fire in the first place. Similarly, we should always look for the hidden too-perfect-to-call-coincidence moments in our lives.
When someone embarks on a new project, no matter how much they mean it l’shem Shamayim, one can always wonder and hope that Hashem is endorsing their actions. But it seems clear that Hashem’s message to all those wishing to perpetuate the memory of Yisroel and Elisheva, a”h, by redting shidduchim in their memory came through loud and clear.
It seems that 10K Batay Yisroel reaches significant milestones at times that are milestones of the couple for which it was formed. The project had achieved a first milestone on the shloshim of Yisroel Levin z”l by reaching 1,000 suggestions. In another too-perfect-to-call-coincidence, a second milestone of 5,000 suggestions was attained recently on Yisroel Levin’s z”l birthday.
According to Kabbalah, there is a special power given to someone on their birthday; therefore, some people have a custom to give brachos to others. Perhaps the message that Hashem is sending is that Yisroel and Elisheva are basking in the zechusim sent through shidduch suggestions made in their memory and they in turn are cultivating Siyata DiShmaya, continuing to impact good in this world and giving brachos to us all, particularly in the world of shidduchim.
One cannot help but notice the Siyata DiShmaya in the 10K Batay Yisroel project. The project has set out to make ten thousand shidduch suggestions in memory of the couple and there have been twenty-nine engagements thus far!
More than the success, it is heartwarming to witness the achdus of Yidden from all over the world combining efforts in making this a reality. It is undoubtedly due to the tremendous achdus and selflessness evident from all those involved that Hashem is sending the success in our efforts and sending too-perfect-to-call-coincidence moments to share with us what an impact we are making in both this world and the next world.
Let us continue this trend by doing our hishtadlus of redting shidduchim in Klal Yisroel in the zechus of Yisroel and Elisheva, a”h, and merit to see the continued Siyata DiShmaya in the success of our efforts!
