The Doctors had Given Up – Yet Last Week She Celebrated Her Bat Mitzvah!

When Chaya Dalya Berezovsky was just 10 weeks old she was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer.

After surgery, multiple doses of chemo, and radiation, the doctors wanted to give up.

Her mother insisted the doctors keep trying, they had a second operation, and Chaya Dalya just celebrated her Bat Mitzvah last week.

It’s been years since that experience, but her parents haven’t forgotten about it.

“I knew I had to do something positive, something to help others,” says Wendy Berezovsky, Chaya Dalya’s mother. So the family found Sweet Dreams for Kids, which has collected and distributed close to 15,000 new pairs of cheerful pajamas in happy colors to hospitalized children all over America.

The family sees these pajamas as “an extra hug” for kids in hospital beds. To support their venture you can reach out to Mrs. Berezovsky at wendy@sweetdreamsforkids.org, or check out their Facebook page.

“We don’t gain anything from this except maybe I made one kid smile today,” says Wendy. “It makes us feel so good inside and that’s what we want to teach our kids, to turn around a terrible, terrible situation that we don’t know why it happens into something good.”
