This Ger Tzedek’s Journey is Inspiring – and Now He’s Engaged!

Yaakov Chaim Danziger looks like any other yeshiva guy.

Looking at his curly peyos and long beard, you would never think he was born to a devout Christian family, and became a ger tzedek after an extensive journey of global exploration.

Dantziger was born in a small English village with just 100 families near Blackburn in North England. They would go to church every Sunday – he hadn’t even heard about Jews or Israel until he was 16.

In University, he started studying history and began questioning his faith. One day, he went out to the fields and prayed “G-d, I know you exist. Please help me find the truth.”

A random tip clued him into an internet search where he discovered Judaism and started exploring. After exploring several communities, he felt most at home with the chasideshe ones, studying first in Belz and then Satmar yeshivos.

It took over three years for him to convert to Judaism, but finally the day came. An only child, he hasn’t been in touch with his father in 20 years, and his mother cut ties with him when he converted. His grandmother is the only person in his family who stays in touch with him.

Just recently Yaakov Chaim got engaged to a wonderful girl. “I merited an amazing Kallah,” he says. “She’s charming and full of yiras shamayim, and with Hashem’s help we’re going to build a house of Torah and emunah.”

With the wedding scheduled for Av, Yaakov Chaim has no family to help him pay for his wedding expenses. “From my socks to my new house, it’s all on me.”

He’s created a Chesed Fund campaign to help him pay for his wedding. If you’ve been inspired by his amazing story, please consider contributing to his cause.
