Gadol shimusha yoseir m’limuda. You learn even more from observing gedolei Yisroel than from hearing their words.
On Monday
, the zekan hamashgichim, HaRav Dov Yaffe shlit”a, Mashgiach in Yeshiva Knesses Chizkiyahu in Kfar Chassidim, sat in front of the Aron Kodesh at Yeshiva Darchei Torah of Far Rockaway. He inpidually shook the hands of the bochurim who were in the audience during his just-concluded shmuess.
One talmid, who is confined to a wheelchair, was wheeled towards the Mashgiach. The elder Mashgiach stood up and – with obvious difficulty – walked down towards the bachur, pausing to offer him a firm handshake and a beracha, before proceeding back to his seat. The bachur displayed a wide smile and commented, “I felt very good.”
The chizuk from the Mashgiach’s words and actions inspired all throughout his current chizuk trip. Earlier in the day, HaRav Yaffe delivered a shmuess to an overflow crowd in Yeshiva Torah Vodaath in Brooklyn. That evening, he inspired the Sephardic community with a shmuess to an overflow crowd at Congregation Shaarei Zion in Brooklyn.
