Fun Dating Ideas! We Asked, You Answered!

So much for the ho hum days of a date consisting of dinner out at a nice restaurant or having a soda in a hotel lobby.  We asked the question and you, our terrific readers, sent in some wonderful, creative ideas for dating options!  We’re anxious to share.
“C” – I know this might sound exotic but it happened to me.  I went out with a guy for quite some time and on one date he pulled out two electric cars and their controllers.  We rode the cars through Prospect Park.  We had races and it was so much fun!
“P” – I happen to be very into Chesed.  I tried this on two occasions.  On one date it bombed but on the other date is was really special.  (In fact, we are still dating). I happen to enjoy visiting nursing homes and just going from room to room chatting for a few minutes with the individuals and trying to make him/her laugh or at least smile.  Some of these people rarely get visitors, and besides knowing that I’ve made their day, the feelings of gratification I get from adding something special to their otherwise boring lives is great.  The first woman I brought along with me looked a bit horrified and I could tell, she couldn’t get out of there fast enough.  But the second woman thought it was a really special thing to do.  Obviously, we’re on the same wave length.
“E” – I love going to the International Arrival’s Building at JFK and watching people arrive from Israel and taking in how they reunite with the people waiting for them.  The hugs and smiles and sometimes tears is great to watch.  It’s a feel good experience.  Afterwards, I usually take my take out for dinner (Mid-eastern style, of course.)
“O” – I’m very into sports, so I usually prepare my date and tell her to dress appropriately.  I like to go bowling, play pool, I’ve even taken a date rock climbing.  Since athleticism is so important to me, if the woman I’m out with looks confused and uncomfortable, that’s the first clue that we are not a great match.
“M” – I love to go on walking dates.  Not because I’m cheap, because I usually eventually end up taking my date out to dinner, but because I love exploring different neighborhoods, parks, and anything outdoors.  I don’t even mind bundling up when the weather is really bad, and can gage from my date’s attitude, whether or not she is flexible that way.  For me it feels like a relaxed way to get to know one another, and the pressure seems to go way down.
“R” – There are a bunch of interesting dates/dating ideas that I implemented, some more creative than others.
Date 1 – Painting Pottery – great setting for discussions/interactions, while having the ability to slow the conversation down without any awkwardness.
Date 2 – Starbucks – I brought lunch and we played card games and Bananagrams.  Afterwards, we went to Randell’s Island.  Nice scenery, and played minigolf.  Afterwards we ate out in Manhattan and had sorbet at a different place.
Date 3 – Arranged a picnic in the Staten Island Botanical
    Gardens.
Date 4 – Prepared a BBQ at Staten Island Botanical Gardens.  It’s a nice place, great scenery and even on a Sunday, almost no one is there.
Date 5 – Castle Fun – an entertainment complex in the mountains.
Date 6 – White Post Game Farm – really big hit, especially the Aviary.
    HELPFUL TIPS FROM “R”
.  Starbucks is your friend – be creative.  Bring along something to do.
.  Park are your friends (girls love them and they are FREE).
.  Always have water and a roll of paper towels with you.  They come in handy when you least expect it.
So there you have it.  Some new, exciting, out-of-the-box ways of planning your next date.  Hope you put some of these ideas to good use.
    Happy Dating!
